Have you been convicted of a federal offense?

Federal appeals challenge the legal rulings of the district court at trial. When the judge makes a serious error, you may be entitled to a new trial. Successful appeals require diligent attention to detail, and a writing style that is clear, concise, and persuasive.  Our attorneys have the experience, talent, and dedication necessary to handle complex appeals.

We will review every single page of the transcript of your trial with a fine-toothed comb to find the key issues which will entitle you to relief. We will then present written legal arguments that are thoroughly researched and comply with the complex technical regulations surrounding federal appellate briefs. Depending on the case, we may also be able to present our arguments in person before a three-member panel of the Circuit Court of Appeals.

Attorney Rob Golder leads our federal appellate practice. He is a graduate of Swarthmore College and Cornell Law School, served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Paula Skahan in the Criminal Court of Shelby County, and served as a Student Law Clerk for the Honorable Jonathan Feldman, Federal Magistrate in the Western District of New York.

Our attorneys frequently handle appeals in the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, which serves Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan. We also handle appeals in other circuits across the United States on a pro hac vice basis. We are constantly following the latest case law to ensure that our clients receive the benefit of every favorable ruling in the federal appellate courts.
